Jeffrey Grauel

Once when I was a kid my mom came into my room to see how I was doing on my drawing and found it shredded all over the floor. She asked why I would destroy such a beautiful picture. I didn’t know how to tell her that the paper and I were fighting and the pen just wouldn’t make the image I had in my head so I tore the drawing in half and ripping it felt really good so I did it again and again and then I wanted to see how small I could make the pieces and then it looked like snow like I had a hand full of snow and that was new for a boy who grew up in California and then I threw it in the air and it fell down in flutters that caught the light and landed all over my head and shoulders and it was like magic, so I said I didn’t like it.
